FAMILY-BASED TREATMENT

Family-based treatment (FBT) is the leading treatment for adolescent eating disorders and is based on the fundamental assumption that parents are uniquely positioned to play an instrumental role in their teenagers’ recovery.

GROUP THERAPY

Confidential small-group sessions where individuals with similar challenges come together with a licensed clinician to understand their issues, learn new skills, reduce symptoms, and break the isolation often associated with mental health struggles.

Specialties We Work In

  • A group of very serious but treatable physical and mental conditions that impact a person’s ability to have a healthy relationship with food and exercise.

  • Treatable mental health conditions that, while distinct, frequently overlap. Anxiety is characterized by persistent, excessive fear or worry, while depression involves a lingering low mood, loss of interest, and hopelessness. Both conditions can significantly interfere with daily life, relationships, and physical health.

  • Becoming a mother begins a new life phase: nurturing and raising a child while integrating a parental identity. This often brings intense sadness, anxiety, and exhaustion.

  • Starting a new relationship, struggling in an established relationship, or grieving a failed relationship are all appropriate reasons for therapy. It helps increase self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and communication skills—key to building and maintaining healthy connections.

  • Dealing with the effects of systemic racism, discrimination, and living in "two worlds" can create anxiety and depression that require a level of cultural sensitivity, training, and attention to relieve.
